Wife of sacked Cardiff City’s Mark Hudson shares how he told their kids he had been named boss – before posting a heart-wrenching clip as he revealed he had been fired
The wife of former Cardiff City Manager Mark Hudson has shared the heart-wrenching moment he told his children he had lost his job – as well as the excited scenes when he previously revealed he had been hired.
Marie-Louise Hudson posted a moving clip on Instagram yesterday contrasting the moment Mark first told his kids he had been made assistant manager at Cardiff and then when he told them he had to leave.
Writing ‘we will do this journey together’ in her caption, Marie-Louise’s video showed Mark, 40, standing in front of his children telling them he was no longer manager before his two sons got up to hug him.
The father-of-three admitted ‘that’s football’ as he tells his children: ‘We’ll all go out for dinner tonight and then we’ll all pack up tomorrow’, leaving the city where his two sons were born.
The former Cardiff City manager was sacked four months into the job after the club went nine matches without a win.
He spent five years as a player for the club and was appointed as manager last year but was removed after the team drew with Wigan on Saturday, leaving the Bluebirds one place above the relegation zone and at risk of losing their place in the Championship.
The first half of the video shows Mark’s two sons cheering with excitement when they found out he had been given a job at Cardiff, with one saying: ‘I’m going to tell all my friends.’
He hugs his father and says: ‘I knew you’d get it. You’re a legend.’
The post then moves to an emotional recording of Mark telling his children: ‘I’m no longer the manager.’
