Ken Pela is an economist by training and later became an investment banker before he went back to his original passion which is real estate development. He said in an interview that he has always wanted to be an architect but he later ended up studying Economics. However, he is currently into estate development and he is also an entrepreneur.
Ken Pela started his political career about 22 years ago when he contested and won the primary for the position of local government chairman in Delta State. Although he won the primary, he was not allowed to become the candidate under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
However, at the end of that contest, he stayed in politics as a member of the Governing Council and Acting Chairman, of the National Institutes of Sports.

Currently, he is running for the position of Governor in the 2023 Delta state gubernatorial election, under the Labour party.
