Wolfgang Porsche divorcing his wife due to changes in behaviour caused by her dementia, moves in with his ex-model new girlfriend
The billionaire Wolfgang Porsche executive who is divorcing his wife after she was diagnosed with dementia has reportedly moved in with his new girlfriend.
Wolfgang Porsche, 79, had struggled to live with his wife Claudia, 74, due to changes in her behaviour after she was diagnosed with dementia two years ago, sources close to the couple said.
Yesterday it emerged the car tycoon had filed for divorce amid rumours he had become closer to a friend of 25 years, Gabriele Prinzessin zu Leiningen, in recent months.
And now, Porsche has moved in with 59-year-old Gabriela – who is now his girlfriend, it has been claimed – after enjoying a Maldives holiday together in January.
The former model’s close circle of friends told Austrian media that the couple’s decision to move in together came as both of them wanted to avoid spending time apart.
It came after it emerged that Porsche has filed for divorce from Claudia, his partner of 16 years, who is known to suffer from a dementia-like illness.
Sources told BIld the billionaire finds it ‘impossible’ live with his wife as her declining health has reportedly altered her personality permanently.
Claudia, who is a grandmother, has four carers who look after her around the clock, having suffered from the illness for the last two years.
She has reportedly not been able to move independently for months and her mental awareness has undergone a rapid decline.
Wolfgang and Claudia have been together since 2007 and married in 2019. The Porsche family’s assets have been estimated at EUR 20bn (£18bn).
In recent months, Wolfgang is said to have been getting closer to Gabriela – also known as Inaara Aga Khan – who was born in Frankfurt in April 1963.
Like Porsche’s wife Claudia, she studied law in Munich, and in Cologne.
In 1991, Gabriela married Prince Karl Emich of Leiningen, who claims to be an heir of the defunct House of Romanov in Russia, and with whom she shares a daughter, Princess Theresa of Leiningen. The couple divorced seven years later in 1998.
Later that year she married the Swiss Karim Aga Khan IV, 86, the 49th Imam of the Nizari Ismailis who is considered a direct descendent of the Prophet Mohammed.
The pair share a son, Prince Aly Muhammad Aga Khan, and were involved in a high profile divorce battle which took 10 years to settle.
They eventually divorced in 2014.
