Couple surprised after they give birth to one in 200 million identical triplets

A couple Jenni and James Casper are ‘over the moon’ after beating ‘one in 200 million’ odds by having identical triplets.

Parents Jenni and James Casper were amazed to discover they had naturally conceived three identical babies last year.

The three baby girls – named Harper-Gwen, Marvella and Evalynn – were delivered nine weeks prematurely at York Hospital on March 31.

Jenni, 27, and James, 26, had initially been told they were expecting twins, the chances of which are roughly one in 250.

The couple are now parents to five daughters, with their newborns now able to come home and meet their older sisters Danica, 10 and Gabriella, four

But the couple said they were left speechless when they discovered at the 12-week scan that they would be having triplets instead.

The couple are now parents to five daughters, with their newborns now able to come home and meet their older sisters Danica, 10 and Gabriella, four.

James, a bin man from Selby, North Yorks, said that the whole situation is a little bit ‘surreal’ but ‘amazing.’

‘Now we’re at home and we’ve settled in with them, it’s a bit surreal.

‘But we’re just overwhelmed and they’ve met their older sisters who are absolutely over the moon and are just so excited.’

The little girls weighed 2lb 13oz, 3lb 1oz and 3lb when they were born and spent almost six weeks in a Special Care Baby Unit at York Hospital.

The delighted parents have now been able to bring their new arrivals home.

‘It’s amazing having them home now, it makes us feel more secure knowing that we have got them home.’
