“I’m sitting on top of you” – Burnaboy hits Davido following his “New Cat” statement
Grammy Award-Winner Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu professionally known as Burnaboy has clapped back at his colleague Davido following his controversial “New Cat” statement.
A few days ago, DMW boss, David Adeleke professionally known as Davido stirred controversies online as he claimed that Burnaboy is a new cat in Afrobeats and by extension belongs to the level of Mayorkun, Asake, Rema, Fireboy among others.
Davido, the “Unavailable” hitmaker made this known during an interview as they discussed the global recognition of the music genre, Afrobeats.
Davido added that him and Wizkid paved the way for Afrobeats and takes it to the international level and further stated that he is happy that the new cats like Burnaboy, Rema, Asake and others are killing it.
The comment “New Cat” sparked mixed reactions while some disagreed with Davido, others agreed with Davido as they dig up a video where Burnaboy acts as a vixen in Davido’s song.
However, Burnaboy who recently makes huge history as he becomes the first African artiste to perform in a UEFA Champions League final throws shade at the singer.
Sharing photo of himself with football legends that include Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and others, Burnaboy said he presently sitting on top of Davido and other self-acclaimed big cats in the music industry.
Burnaboy wrote; “Sittin’ On Top Of The World 🚀.”
