Career
Prior to joining the rap industry, Swae Lee, along with his brother Jxmmi, used to perform at parties and shows in their town. The pair collaborated with a friend and created the group ‘Dem Outta State Boyz’. This group began uploading its songs and videos to YouTube with the aim of getting recognition. After performing in the group, Lee and Jxmmi moved to Atlanta after being advised to do so by P-Nasty. There, the duo joined hands with record producer Mike WiLL Made-It and signed to his label EarDrummers Entertainment as Rae Sremmurd (spelled backwards as Ear Drummers) and produced two songs ‘We’ and ‘I Dip’. Unfortunately these tracks failed to get much attention from the public.
Lee and his brother didn’t lose hope and released their single titled ‘No Flex Zone’ in 2014. Soon after the release of this track, the duo shot to stardom! This track was ranked #35 on US Billboard Hot 100 and even spawned numerous remixes. After this, Lee and Jxmmi released the single ‘No Type’ which rose to #16 on the same chart. The brothers have since released two studio albums under the label EarDrummers, namely ‘SremmLife’ and ‘SremmLife 2’. Well, in 2016, Swae Lee announced that he will release his debut solo album ‘Swaecation’ soon.

The rapper made the revelation while clarifying why he attached the Nigerian flag to a tweet announcing he was jumping on the South African genre, Amapiano wave.
Swae Lee had taken to Twitter to announce he would be experimenting with the trending South African genre, Amapiano, but added a Nigerian flag to the tweet which didn’t sit down well with South Africans.
Wait till y’all hear Swae Lee on Amapiano,” he wrote with a Nigerian flag emoji at the end.
Outraged South Africans trooped to the comment section to accuse Swae Lee of discrediting their country, the origin of Amapiano, and wrongly crediting Nigeria.
However, Swae Lee clarified in follow-up tweets that his initial tweet was misunderstood.
According to him, he added the Nigerian flag because he is partly Nigerian.
He wrote, “For the ones outraged about the flag, I put it because I’m partly Nigerian. I didn’t say anything about the creation of the genre y’all tweaking.”
Swae Lee added: “Bigs up to the South Africans for creating this beautiful sh*t.”
Net Worth
He has an estimated net worth of $3million dollars.
