Six travelers declared missing as passenger boat capsizes in Niger state
At least six travelers have been declared missing after a passenger boat they were traveling on capsized on the Zamare River in Agwara LGA of Niger State on Monday, August 28.
The victims who were mostly farmers, were travelling from Niger State to Kebbi State when the boat capsized. The boat had 20 passengers including women and children when the engine powering it went off in the middle of the river.
Confirming the incident, the Overseeing Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Garba Salihu, said the agency was yet to get full details of the incident.
