2024 UTME: How to resolve NIN issues

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a directive to all 2024/2025 candidates having issues with their National Identification Number (NIN).

Since 2021, the educational board adopted the compulsory use of NIN for its registration.

JAMB said the development is imperative to prevent multiple registrations and also verify the identity of the candidate.

Candidates can only get their profile code for the exam registration through the use of their NIN.

Registration for the board’s 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) began on January 15 and will run until February 26.

But in the past few days, some candidates have lamented that the information supplied by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), the body in charge of NIN, is at variance with what was provided at the registration point.

Following the increasing complaints by applicants, JAMB said it already scheduled a meeting with the leadership of the NIMC.

In a post via their X page on Wednesday, the board also asked all candidates who were experiencing NIN issues to send a mail to nimc-amb2024@nimc.gov.ng.

Applicants are expected to relay their different complaints in the mail to the exam body.

“To all prospective UTME/DE candidates, how to resolve NIN issues: send your National Identification Number (NIN) as a mail to nimc-amb2024@nimc.gov.ng,” the statement read.

This year’s UTME is expected to commence on March 19 and end on April 29.

Candidates who are set to commence their registration processes for this year’s UTME are also implored to take note of some important factors.

It is also important to note that all candidates must avoid making unnecessary mistakes during their registration process.
