Fidelity Bank extends MD’s tenure to 2026
The Board of Directors of Fidelity Bank Plc has announced the extension of the employment contract of its Group Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, from 2024 to 2026.
In a statement filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited and made available to PUNCH Online on Thursday, the decision to extend Onyeali-Ikpe’s tenure was taken at the Board meeting held on Monday.
“The extension is in furtherance of the Bank’s strategic objectives and premised on Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe’s sterling performance since assumption of office on January 1, 2021.
“The Board is confident that the Bank’s performance will continue its upward trajectory under Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe’s leadership and looks forward to working closely with her and the Executive Management Team on the execution of various strategic initiatives including international expansion.”
Onyeali-Ikpe’s appointment as MD became effective on January 1, 2021.
She succeeded Nnamdi Okonkwo, who retired from the Board of Directors of the bank, with effect from December 31, 2020, upon completion of his contract tenure.
Before she was appointed MD, Onyeali-Ikpe was Executive Director, Lagos and South West Directorate at the bank.
In its unaudited results for 2023, Fidelity Bank posted a profit before tax of N122.15bn representing a 128 per cent growth from the N53.68bn recorded in the previous year.
In the period under review, the bank posted gross earnings of N552.77bn; a 64 percent growth from the N337.05bn posted in 2022.
