I hope a woman becomes President – PDP chairman, Umar Damagum
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Damagum, has expressed hope that the next president of Nigeria will be a woman.
Damagum said this at the PDP International Women’s Day 2024 celebration at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Friday, March 8.
Damagum who was represented by the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, said the men in leadership positions have over the years failed Nigerians.
“The significance of mothers and the role of women cannot be overstated. Let me be sincere with you, I pray and hope that, even if not in our generation, one day a woman will become the president of this country. I say this with utmost sincerity and from the depth of my heart because I believe that the men have failed this generation.” he said
