Some Nigerian youths have staged a protest for embattled social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse better known as Very Dark Man, who was arrested four days back.
We reported on Friday that the socialite was arrested by actress, Tonto Dikeh for cyberbullying and threat to life. Recall that he had accused the actress of being part of the GistLover blog formation, which led to several death threats from haters of the blog, and in return, she had arrested him for his statements, which lacked evidence.
The social media activist who was supposed to be released from detention on Monday was given a heavy bail condition, which made it very difficult for him to secure bail. His bail condition required a property and a business owner in Abuja with a government seal of oath and submission of an International passport for 1 year plus N200 million naira.
Following this, some Nigerian youths, who are clearly fans and lovers of the socialite took to the street to stage a protest for him, demanding his release. In videos captured online, the youths could be seen carrying placards and cardboard, which have the inscription ‘Free Very Dark Man ‘.

His lawyer had earlier spoken out, expressing his belief that the police would be professional enough to release him on bail. However, if they fail to do so, the law will take its due course.
He revealed that part of the course of the law is the judicial process and his family and well wishes are entitled to freer protest both online and offline.
His lawyer further revealed those behind the arrest which include actresses Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and singer, Samklef, whom he has had beef with in the past few months.
