A veteran Kannywood actress Saratu Gidado, popularly known as Daso has died in her sleep while observing the Ramadan fasting.
The relatives of the actress confirmed her demise on Tuesday to a local radio station in Kano.
The relatives said she was found dead after she had gone back to sleep after Sahur, the early-morning Muslim breakfast for those observing the Ramadan fasting.
Daso, until her death, was a prominent figure in the Hausa film industry for over 18 years.
