Award-winning musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed frustration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the Edo State governorship election process.
Drawing on his own experiences in Osun State, Davido called on the electoral body to fix ongoing issues, tweeting,
“Bruh, #inecnigeria fix up! We can’t continue like this… wtf.
“My mum is from Edo, for those wondering why I’m interested in the election, but we as Nigerians should be concerned. #inecnigeria shame on you. I know how many times I had to come in here and rant before they got it right in Osun! It’s really bad. God help us.”
His comments also responded to Deputy Inspector General of Police Frank Mba’s suggestion that voters should return home immediately after casting their votes, to which Davido replied, “Loooooooool, go where???” Davido’s mother hails from Edo State, and he has publicly supported the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, ahead of the election.
