The Ooni of Ife shares a celebratory message on Instagram marking the start of the Olojo Festival.
“After 7 days in deep seclusion, I call upon you all to join me in prayer as I wear the sacred crown of my ancestors. This will be a moment when every heartfelt prayer is answered,” the Ooni of Ife wrote, marking the commencement of the revered Olojo Festival.
The Olojo Festival is a powerful celebration rooted in Yoruba mythology, honoring the moment when Oduduwa, the ancestral father of the Yoruba people, descended from heaven with a chain, signifying his divine authority as the first king of the Ife kingdom.
