In a public statement shared today, VDM (Victor Daniel Mark) reached out to popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz (Folarin Falana), following his visit to the House of Representatives.
VDM urged Falz to reconsider the lawsuit filed against him, expressing the need to join forces in fighting the real enemies of their cause.
“If you see what’s going on here, you would drop the lawsuit against me and let’s face the bad eggs.
Your father is my father in this struggle. I can’t defame Baba Falana. God bless you,”
VDM wrote in his appeal to the rapper, referencing renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), who happens to be Falz’s father.
This comes just a few days after a public fallout between the two, when Falz sued VDM for alleged defamation. According to reports, the dispute arose after VDM made certain comments regarding Falz’s involvement in the ongoing fight against police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria. Falz, feeling that his reputation and commitment to the cause were unfairly called into question, responded by taking legal action.
However, VDM’s latest message suggests a shift in tone, as he advocates for unity between them, focusing on identifying and addressing the ‘bad eggs’ that threaten their collective struggle.
The rapper is yet to respond, but fans and followers of both parties are closely watching for further developments in the case.
