Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vowed that good governance will prevail despite ongoing opposition. He made this declaration while inaugurating the newly built Government House Staff Quarters in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Governance in Rivers State Is Irreversible – Fubara
Governor Fubara emphasized that despite the relentless antagonism against his administration, the course of governance remains unchangeable, and victory is assured for the people of Rivers State.
Acknowledging the Supreme Court’s recent judgment, which dampened the spirits of many indigenes, Fubara urged residents to stay resilient, assuring them that the best is yet to come.
“Our back is not on anybody; it is on God. I want to thank you for your support, and I assure you that if there is one person who will always stand by you, it is me,” Fubara stated.
Fubara Reaffirms Commitment to Peaceful Leadership
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to leading with integrity, honor, and respect, ensuring that his leadership would be accountable even years after leaving office.
“I want to be proud to defend my position 20 to 30 years from now. I will not disappoint you,” he assured.
Despite political tensions, Fubara rejected violence, warning that his administration would not tolerate anyone attempting to destabilize peace in the state.
“I am not scared of anything. The worst that can happen is leaving office—but am I leaving the earth? That won’t stop me from existing.”
Governor Fubara Highlights Ongoing Development Projects
Fubara reaffirmed that his administration remains focused on governance and infrastructural development, dismissing claims of stagnation. The newly inaugurated Government House Staff Quarters, alongside other upcoming projects, demonstrates his commitment to progress.
“This project is proof that good governance is on course in Rivers State,” he stated.
Government House Staff Quarters: A Milestone for Workers
Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, praised the governor for not only constructing the project but also ensuring it was tastefully furnished to provide a comfortable living environment for workers.
Permanent Secretary of the State Government, Chukwuma Augustine, revealed that the project was awarded on June 6, 2024, to Monier Construction Company (MCC) and has now been fully completed and paid for.
