Pastor Adeboye Shares Shocking Experience That Left Him Bedridden

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared details of a life-threatening experience that left him bedridden during the 2018 yuletide season.

Speaking at the church’s annual Special Holy Ghost Service, themed “Joy Unspeakable,” Pastor Adeboye, fondly called Daddy GO, recalled how an exhausting evangelism schedule and Nigeria’s deplorable road conditions took a toll on his health.

Collapsing in Ilesha and a Life-Saving Helicopter Rescue

The revered clergyman narrated how he collapsed in Ilesha and became temporarily paralyzed due to the strain caused by bad roads. This forced him to spend Christmas in bed for the first time in his life.

He revealed that after breaking down in Ilesha, he had to be airlifted to the RCCG camp for the program. However, some individuals attempted to stop the helicopter from taking off, even damaging one of its windows.

“I was too weak to make the journey by road, and if I had attempted it, I probably wouldn’t have survived. So, a helicopter was chartered to bring me back to the camp,” he recounted.

Grateful for Life and Divine Protection

Pastor Adeboye emphasized how the devil thought he had won, but seven years later, he is still standing strong.

“For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas Day in bed. The devil was certain he had finally got me,” he said.

“But seven years later, I am still here! I want you to thank God for sparing my life.”

The congregation responded with a joyous celebration, expressing gratitude for his life and continued ministry.
