Popular Nigerian comedian, Woli Arole, has expressed concerns over the repeated accidents occurring on Otedola Bridge in Lagos State, suggesting that a supernatural force might be responsible.
His statement comes just hours after a tanker explosion at the bridge led to the destruction of vehicles and buildings.
Tanker Explosion Destroys Cars, Church, and Houses
According to an update shared by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on X (formerly Twitter), the fire affected several structures, including a church, a residential house, and mechanics’ workshops near the CMD Road area.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the incident occurred at around 8 PM on Tuesday.
“The 30-tonne DAF Gas Truck, with an unknown registration number, was navigating the Lagos-Ibadan expressway when it crashed, resulting in an explosion with massive fireballs in front of a Redeemed Church,” the statement read.
The raging fire quickly spread to nearby buildings and four vehicles, prompting immediate efforts to prevent further damage.
Victim explains how he escaped the fire explosion with News Central below:
“The tanker fell on my car, pushed my car away from the road, I quickly ran down from the car when I saw it’s gas, and the tanker exploded.”
