Renowned Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu has been named among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, solidifying her position as a powerhouse in African storytelling and global media innovation.
The prestigious TIME 100 list, released annually, celebrates influential figures across the globe who are redefining industries and shaping the future through innovation, leadership, and cultural impact. This year’s list includes a notable number of trailblazing Africans driving change across diverse sectors.
Mo Abudu: Championing African Narratives
Founder and CEO of EbonyLife Media, Mo Abudu earned her place on the list for her relentless pursuit of reshaping the African narrative. Her media empire spans television, film, training, and hospitality—platforms through which she continues to amplify African stories and talent on the global stage.
Emmy-nominated actor and producer Idris Elba, who co-created the film Dust to Dreams with Abudu, penned her tribute in TIME. He praised her visionary leadership and unstoppable drive:
