Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has reacted to the death of her father, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of Oyo State, with a shocking revelation about her childhood and strained family ties.
In a series of emotional videos shared on Facebook, Kemi accused her late father of destroying their family through years of emotional and physical abuse, and of being deeply involved in juju (traditional spiritual practices).
“My father destroyed our family unit. He tortured us emotionally and physically. He was heavily into juju,” she said.
Kemi Olunloyo Rejects Condolence Messages
In one of the video posts, Kemi made it clear that she does not want condolence messages from the public, insisting that such messages should be sent elsewhere.
“Don’t condole with me. Send your messages to the rest of the family. I’m not part of the Olunloyo family,” she declared.
Kemi emphasized that she had long distanced herself from her father and the rest of the family due to the trauma she allegedly suffered while growing up.
The former governor’s death has drawn public attention, but Kemi’s explosive reaction has reignited conversations about generational trauma, abuse, and family estrangement among prominent Nigerian families.
