Nigerian music star Kizz Daniel has opened up about what truly matters to him when making music—and it’s not about polished sounds or big-name producers.

In a candid post shared on his Instagram Story, the hitmaker revealed that relatability is the core focus of his creative process, regardless of the genre or who produces the track.

“I don’t make music for aesthetics. No be by ‘Make he sound fine’. One rule: Relatability. Even if na Segun from Ikorodu produce am, as long as wetin you dey talk dey connect to people wey matter,” he wrote in Pidgin English.

Kizz Daniel’s approach is evident in his discography, where his songs—anchored in real-life themes and catchy melodies—resonate deeply with fans across generations.

Blending simple yet impactful language, social commentary, and an easy-to-sing-along style, Kizz Daniel has carved a niche as one of Nigeria’s most consistent hitmakers since his breakout in 2014 with ‘Woju’.

From ‘Buga’ to ‘Twe Twe’: A Hitmaker’s Streak

In early 2024, his hit single ‘Twe Twe’ was crowned the No. 1 song of the year by TurnTable Charts, reaffirming his dominance in the Nigerian music scene. This marks Kizz Daniel’s second time topping the year-end charts, following the global success of ‘Buga (Lo Lo Lo)’ in 2022.
