A British man who vanished during a holiday in Thailand has been found alive but in critical condition on life support.
Ashton Jones, 29, from Cwmbran, South Wales, disappeared during a night out in Bangkok just five days into his trip.
He was later discovered in a Thai hospital, having undergone emergency brain surgery after a suspected violent attack.
Ashton, who has epilepsy, was separated from his friends during a night out at a Bangkok nightclub. After hours of searching, his devastated family was informed he had been admitted to Chonburi Hospital, where he remains in a coma, bedbound, unresponsive, and suffering from seizures.
His grandmother, Beverley Walker, is now leading a desperate effort to raise £50,000 to cover medical expenses and repatriate Ashton to the UK. She revealed that Ashton had traveled without health insurance, leaving the family to face mounting hospital bills alone.
“Without immediate financial or diplomatic help, my grandson may not survive,” she said. “He can’t talk, eat, or move. We’re heartbroken and terrified.”
Doctors have tried to wake Ashton, and although there was some success, he remains in a critical state. The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help fund his care and return.
“Please help us bring Ashton home. Your donations could save his life,” Beverley pleaded.
