Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State. His visit comes days after the burial of the former president.
Speaking during the visit, Obi explained why he couldn’t make it to Daura on the day of the burial.
“It was difficult for me to get to Daura yesterday. There was no flight,” Obi said. “Anyone who comes even tomorrow is still part of the mourning.”
His words reflect both a deep respect for the late president and an understanding of the limitations that sometimes hinder timely presence at such events.
Obi met with members of the Buhari family, offering heartfelt condolences and prayers, and emphasizing the importance of unity and honoring leaders who have served the country.
