The Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria (GPBN) has unveiled its newly elected executive council after a keenly contested election that saw active participation from members across the country.
The announcement was made in Lagos on Tuesday by the Guild’s Director of Communication, Abiola Alaba Peters (AAP).
According to the statement, the election featured strong competition among candidates, reflecting the growing influence of the Guild within Nigeria’s digital media space.
Newly Elected GPBN Executives
The new leadership team includes:
- Damilare Bankole – National President
- Mutiu Adesina Okediran – General Secretary
- Angela Davies – National Treasurer
- Abiola Alaba Peters – Director of Communication
During the handover ceremony, President Emeritus Chris Kehinde Nwandu (CKN) congratulated the new officers and charged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service to the association.
Bankole Sets Agenda for a Stronger, More United Guild
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Damilare Bankole, expressed deep appreciation to members for their trust. He pledged to focus on:
- Enhancing members’ welfare
- Strengthening the Guild’s relevance within Nigeria’s media ecosystem
- Building unity and collaboration among bloggers nationwide
Bankole also extended a hand of partnership to fellow contestants, calling for collective effort as the new administration begins work.
He affirmed: “GPBN is entering a new chapter—one defined by growth, innovation, and elevated professional standards.”
With the new leadership now in place, the Guild looks set to advance its mission of promoting credible, ethical, and impactful digital journalism in Nigeria.
