Nigerian Afro-pop star, Davido and kid comedienne, Emmanuella have been nominated for Nickolodeons Kids’ Choice Awards 2018. The two Nigerian stars were nominated under the category of favourite African stars. The event is slated to hold on Saturday, March 24. This award show is the only event where kids have the opportunity to vote for their best and favorite stars.
Other African stars on the list include Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania) Cassper Nyovest, Caster Semenya (South Africa) and Eddy Kenzo (Uganda) and Black Coffee (South Africa). Alex Okosi, the executive vice president and managing director of Viacom International Media Networks Africa stated that the platform offers an opportunity for African stars to be recognised.
He said: “The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards offer a platform for African stars to be recognised for their excellence in their various talents including, music, sport and television by kids all over the globe. We are delighted to feature the continent’s highly talented nominees in the Favourite African Stars category where Black Coffee is nominated for the Favourite Global Music Star category alongside international counterparts.”
