After Juventus remarkably scored three goals to cancel out Real’s 3-0 away victory from the first leg of their quarterfinal, Ronaldo made no mistake with a controversial late effort from the spot, just when it looked as if the clash was heading for extra time.
Few gave Juventus any meaningful chance as it headed to Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu facing a seemingly insurmountable deficit. However, Milan Mandzukic scored with a second-minute header and then added another before half-time, to give the Italians hope.
