You’ve been in a relationship for a while now and things are going on pretty well. You’ve met his friends and family and are at a point in your relationship that you feel like you can tell him anything without feeling like your overstepping or like he’s going to judge you.
Okay, honesty and trust are some of the most crucial aspects of being in a relationship and this is not to encourage you to keep things from your man – because every relationship is different- but honestly sometimes it’s better to keep some things to yourself.
1. Never admit that you do not like their mother
You don’t need a genius to explain this to you. Refrain from bad-mouthing their mother even if he starts does it himself.
That’s a boundary that you do not want to cross, ever. He can talk about his mother all he wants – but not be disrespectful of course- because that’s his mother. It’s safe to say that your advice in this case is not needed.
2. Never confess to past infidelities
This is another tricky one. To help figure out whether you should or should not tell your man that you cheated on your previous lover, you need to ask yourself whether telling them will benefit your relationship in the long run.
3. Never admit that his friend hit on you
Definitely not a good idea.
4. Never tell him all of your friend’s business
Girl code. Could we please just keep the things that we talk about with the girls amongst the girls? I mean, what if your man just lets it slip when they meet your friend one time.
5. Tell him how you think all his friends are losers
Simply put, this is just not cool. And I don’t think you’re really ready to know how he feels about your bestfriend.
