After having a perfect wedding, a bride returned to her honeymoon suite to find her groom dead in bed just hours after they tied the knot.Clare, 35, and Danny Emsley, 37, got married on August 17, 2018. At about 11:30pm, Danny went to bed in their suite at Woodhall Spa in Linton near Wetherby, West Yorks. An hour or so later, his new wife went to check on him and he was “fine”. She then returned to the party until around 1:30pm.
She returned to the room with her mum, who helped her out of her wedding dress before leaving. But when bride Clare went to climb into their bed, she found something was seriously wrong and ran from the room screaming for help, accidentally locking herself out.
Friends and family had to break down the door of the suite and they found Danny unresponsive. They called 999 and tried CPR but it was too late.
Danny has a son from a previous relationship and has been described as “fit and healthy” by friends.
Heartbroken Clare paid tribute to Danny, her partner of seven years, on Facebook, writing:
Friday was the best day of my life, where I got to marry the best, most bluntly honest, funniest, kindest and most loving man I’ve ever met.
We had a perfect day full of family, friends, love and laughter – we couldn’t have asked for a better day.
The magic ran out at the end of the night and my beautiful Danny was cruelly ripped from my life.
There is a hole in my heart that can never be filled.
I just don’t know how I’ll ever cope without you my fabulous husband.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Danny’s death. His funeral will reportedly take place on September 14.
