Manchester United fans hit out at Paul Pogba after the Frenchman sent a ‘disrespectful’ tweet following France’s 0-0 draw with Germany. The 25-year-old did little to dampen the speculation surrounding his future yesterday when he revealed he couldn’t guarantee he would be at Old Trafford next season. ‘My future is currently in Manchester,’ said Pogba. ‘I still have a contract, I am playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the next few months.’ The timing of Pogba’s comments were particularly unhelpful given United had eased their poor start to the season with a morale-boosting 2-0 win against Burnley just three days earlier and United fans are understandably angry that their star man is flirting with an exit at the club.
Pogba asked fans to ‘caption this’ with two photos of him whispering to Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe. But United fans saw their opportunity to hijack the post and quickly reminded Pogba that no player is bigger than the club.
