Desperate Housewives actress Marcia Cross has revealed her secret battle with cancer. The 56-year-old confirmed that she was eight months post-treatment and ‘happy to be alive’ on Sunday, but felt sad to have lost her famous flame-coloured hair. Marcia, best known for her role as Bree Van De Kamp, received a wealth of support from famous friends, including Kelly Rutherford, Haylie Duff and Lori Loughlin.
Revealing her plight on Instagram, the actress had written: ‘So grateful and happy to be alive but sad that my hair fell out and is about 1 inch long now and looks cra cra. ‘Anyone else have #hairloss due to #cancer? Talk to me. I feel you.’
She posted a pouting, sad-faced picture, with her inch-long hair just out of shot. Overwhelmed by the reception, Marcia later commented on the post: ‘I am doing well everyone. Didn’t mean to scare you. Almost eight months post treatment.’ She added: ‘Thank you for your LOVE. OMG. MAKES ME WEEP.’
