Kwara United are through to the quarter-final stage of the Aiteo Federation Cup following a 1-0 win against Rivers United in their Group C tie at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

Samsudeen Ashimu scored the decisive goal for the Harmony Boys three minutes after the half hour mark.

The Ilorin-based club sit at the top of the log with six points having thrashed Abia Warriors 5-1 in their opening game on Monday.

Kano Pillars who lost 2-1 to Abia Warriors in the Group’s first fixture of the day are second with three points and enjoy a better goal difference to to the Umuahia club who sit in third position with the same points.

Rivers United occupy last position in the group and have slim hope of progressing into the last eight.

Nasarawa United recorded their first win in Group D edging out Wikki Tourists 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano with Kabiru Balogun netting the winner.

Akwa United who beat Kogi United 1-0 in the Group’s other game on Wednesday sit at the top of the standings with six point and are already through to the quarter-finals.

Nasarawa United occupy second position with four points. Kogi United have one point, while Wikki Tourists have zero point.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, Bet9ja Nigeria National League side, Supreme Court held Enugu Rangers to a 1-1 draw in a Group B game.

Rangers top the group with four points, while Sunshine Stars and Supreme Court have two points each. El-Kanemi occupy last position with one point.
