Two Nigerian soldiers were recently killed during a military operation against the Boko Haram sect in Borno state. The gallant military men were gunned down during a gun battle with the insurgents as some soldiers sustained injuries, according to reports.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army on Monday killed seven insurgents and rescued 73 persons in two separate clearance in operations Sirdawala and Valley of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno.
Brigadier General Texas Chukwu disclosed this in a statement released in Maiduguri.
Chukwu said the operations were conducted by the troops of 121 Battalion after they were tipped through intelligence information that the insurgents were hibernating around Pulka area.
He explained that the troops, in rare display of professionalism, tactically located, engaged and neutralised the terrorists within the community.
