A 17-year-old girl was allegedly molested and sexually assaulted by a 47-year-old teacher in his office, according to reports.
The unnamed teenager of Obuasi Senior High Technical School in the Ashanti Region, Ghana – said the housemaster for House 5, Seth Amponsah, forcibly had sex with her in his office one evening.
According to the Form One girl, the teacher raped her without using a condom.
Speaking on a radio show this morning, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, the Obuasi East lawmaker said the alleged affair between the student and Mr Amponsah, per reports he has received on the ground, is just “a tip of the iceberg”.
He indicated that several students have suffered similar fates but the teachers have gone scot-free due to intimidation.
The MP who is also an old student of the school said he has reported the matter to the Regional Education office for action to be taken against offenders.
“I will make sure the girl gets justice because this thing must stop. I have reported the matter to the education office,” he indicated.
