John Ogu is confident that the Super Eagles will beat the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in tonight’s (Tuesday) 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Stade Taieb Mhiri in Sfax, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ogu has struggled for game time in the Super Eagles under Gernot Rohr making just six appearances in two years, but he insists he will be ready to take his chance whenever he gets it.
“We know what is at stake and we want to get the job done early soon as we can,” the Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfielder told CSN.
“It’s a bit tough not getting to play, but mentally I am strong and ready to take my chance when ever I get it.
“The team comes first and that’s the spirit.”
The Super Eagles, 4-0 winners from the first leg encounter in Uyo on Saturday, are second in Group E with six points from three games while Libya are third with four points after three games.
South Africa lead with seven points from two games with Seychelles bottom of the table.
A win for Nigeria against Libya would take the Super Eagles closer to a place at the 2019 AFCON finals to be staged in Cameroon next summer.
