The Chairman of Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Barr. Chike Maduekwe, led a team of the Agency’s officials, members of Anambra State Materials Testing Laboratories and the security officials to seal the site of a collapsed three storey building under construction.
The collapsed structure is located in Otolo Village, Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA and recorded two deaths.
According to reports, the owner of the collapsed structure obtained approval from ANSPPB with fake addresses and is yet to be apprehended.
At least 11 expatriate workers and others were trapped in the building after it collapsed on Wednesday, October 17th.
The incident generated a lot of tension in the industrial town of Nnewi as people ran around to check on their relatives who usually visit the site to work.
