Robert De Niro’s New York restaurant has been evacuated after a suspicious package addressed to the actor was found. It’s the latest bomb scare to rock the US following packages sent to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and the CNN studios. A skyscraper in the city has also been cleared as police continue to hunt down the ‘MAGA bomber’.

The device at De Niro’s restaurant appears to be connected to the ones sent to Democrats yesterday, CNN reports. The suspicious parcels were intercepted before they could reach their intended recipients, who included former Attorney General Eric Holder and former CIA director John Brennan, the FBI said. It appears De Niro, 75, is the latest liberal critic of Trump to be targeted by the so-called MAGA bomber – who was named after Trump’s campaign slogan ‘Make America Great Again’. De Niro has repeatedly blasted the president in public ever since he became a candidate in the 2016 election.
