A musician convicted of rape has been arrested again, this time for touching a woman’s breasts without her consent, according to reports.
Police in Lusaka, Zambia arrested musician Clifford Dimba alias General Kanene for touching a woman’s breast without her permission.
Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo disclosed that the incident happened around 20:00 hours on October 16.
“We received a report of Indecent Assault from a 26 year old female of old Kanyama Compound in Lusaka that she was indecently assaulted by Clifford Dimba popularly known as general Kanene. This is reported to have happened at a bar in Makeni Villa on 16th October, 2018 around 20:00 hours.
“It is alleged that the suspect repeatedly touched the victims breasts against her will as she was waiting for her food. The suspect was arrested yesterday and is detained in Police custody,” stated Katongo.
Dimba earned a presidential pardon in July 2015, just one year into his 15-year sentence, after he wrote a flattering song about Lungu from jail. He was convicted for the rape of a 14-year-old girl in 2014.
It was gathered that days after he was released from prison, local media reported Dimba beat one of his four wives for refusing him sex — and the woman later went missing.
Dimba also allegedly beat another woman months later, saying she was a prostitute looking to exploit him for money.
