Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, is delighted to see his Spanish club, Leganes earn a share of spoils against title hopefuls Atletico Madrid in their LaLiga clash on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
Guido Carrillo’s netted a late equaliser for the hosts to cancel out Antoine Griezmann’s goal, a 30-yard free-kick which curled
straight into the net.
Griezmann should have restored Diego Simeone’s men lead in stoppage time, but he fired over from Filipe Luis’ cut-back and Atletico were consigned to stalemate.
The draw prevented Atletico Madrid who were without Diego Godin, Koke and Diego Costa due to muscular problems from going top of LaLiga.
Omeruo, who is loan at Leganes from English Premier League club, Chelsea and has expressed his intention of staying permanently with Manuel Pellegrino’s side played the entire 90 minutes of the game.
“Tough game against a good side. #cdleganes 1-1 #atleticomadrid,” reads a tweet on his Twitter handle.
Omeruo has made five appearances in all competitions for Leganes this season.
