Formula 3 driver Sophia Florsch has suffered a fractured spine following a horror crash during the Macau Grand Prix.
Five people in total were taken to hospital after the 17-year-old lost control of her car, which subsequently hurtled over a crash barrier and into a photographers’ station. The speed-trap figure before the braking area indicated that Florsch’s car was travelling at 171.6mph. Florsch, who drives for Van Amersfoort Racing, was taken to hospital and will undergo surgery on Monday.
