In an age where women are making great strides in their careers and running lucrative businesses, it’s expected that some men will choose to leech off unsuspecting successful women.
How can you tell if your boyfriend is a gold-digger? Is he with you for the financial perks and because you’re just too nice to say no? Here are signs to watch out for:
1. He seems very interested in how you’re doing financially
At first, it seemed like he was just asking to be nice and to show how much he cares about your hustle. But when you start getting questions that show he’s trying to find out how much you’re really worth, beware. It’s okay for him to ask how your business is doing in general, but as soon as he starts being interested in exactly how much you’re earning, if you’ve gotten paid that month etc. then watch out.
2. He is entitled
Honestly, some men are quite shameless with their gold-digging. When you get statements like: “If you love me you’ll happily give me the money.” “My friend’s girlfriend just bought him a car,” and so on, you probably need to start running.
3. He’s always borrowing from you
Another sign your boyfriend is a gold-digger is when he will constantly borrow and never pay back. In fact, he can even go as far as asking you why you want the money back anyway.

4. He gets nasty when you say no
Apart from feeling entitled to your money, gold-digging boyfriends also get very offended when you say no. He may sulk for days, accuse you of being selfish or even threaten to break up with you. You should probably kick this one to the curb.
5. He makes plans with your money
This guy comes up with date ideas, even chooses where you should both hang out and you’ll be the one stuck with the bill. He makes travel plans and tells you how much it costs like it’s no big deal.
6. He’s very charming about it
Every man on this list sounds like a jerk right? Who would want to date these guys? But gold-diggers are very charming. You don’t know it’s happening until you’re too far gone. He becomes more and more romantic with each bill you pay for him. He preys on your need for affection and validation. This guy has all the best moves and the most romantic words. Seriously, it will be hard to miss these signs if you’re not very observant.
