We have to admit, sometimes we think the cost of beauty is too high. The things we have to go through sometimes are kind of ridiculous. Take shaving the pubic area for example. Having razor-sharp blades go against your skin might be seen by some as a torture device Hitler would’ve liked. But for us, it’s just a regular Tuesday morning (yeah it’s Monday but you get the point). We’re kind of used to it. But what we shouldn’t and really can’t get used to; razor bumps!
Having razor bumps on your pubic area can be one of the most annoying things ever. Not only are you worried that your special lady parts might look like that for life, but you also have to think of the itchiness and redness. It can turn out to be a nightmare. And we’ve been there, so we understand.
So today, to help you worry about one less thing, we have some ways you can treat razor bumps on your pubic area fast.
Start with a cleanser
We know this sounds weird but trust us. Using a cleanser on your razor bumps will actually go a long way. Grab a cleanser specifically made for sensitive skin (the harsh ones can make things worse) and apply gently. The cleanser will remove dirt and oil and give the razor bumps on your pubic area the protection it needs while healing.
Then moisturize
This is one of the first things you want to do. When your skin is irritated, you need to give it a protective shield and keep it hydrated. Using a lightweight lotion that can easily get absorbed into the skin will work great and eliminate a greasy look.
Finish off with an anti-inflammatory treatment
This is perhaps the most vital step. You’ve prepared the skin and moisturized, now it’s time to treat the razor bump further. Get an anti-inflammatory treatment with hydrocortisone and use as a spot treatment. Hydrocortisone works very much like witch hazel but much stronger. Doctors recommend it for swollen and irritated skin and it also soothes and relieves any discomfort. You can also use products that contain tea tree oil and aloe vera to relieve discomfort and soothe the area.
We recommend doing these every day while avoiding sexual activities and tight-fitting underwear. Your lady parts need a break to heal so make sure you take the time.
Shaving might not be all bad. For example, see how shaving your face can take years off your age.
