Boris Johnson’s dad said you’re ‘allowed to kill your wife if she gets your scrambled eggs wrong’ after revealing he helped free a murderer. Stanley Johnson, 78, opened up while guesting Loose Women about the time he ‘so kindly’ got his friend’s son ‘who had done something horrible and murdered someone’ out of a French jail. Panellist Stacey Solomon, fellow guest Professor Green – and even the viewers – couldn’t believe what was coming out for the former politician’s mouth.
Stanley said: ‘One chap told me his son had committed a terrible crime, like murdering someone, and he was in prison in a French jail and would I kindly help.
And, I wrote to the French Minister of Justice, and the French Minister of Justice said, “well, I’ve let him out”. ‘So, I thought that was superb, so I wrote a letter to the father to say: “Good news, your son has been let out of jail” and I never got an answer. Anyway…’ ‘He was a murderer?’ Stacey asked, before adding, ‘I’m confused.’
Stanley then told the host: ‘The French have different degrees of murder, if you see what I mean?’ Stacey replied: ‘I mean, murder is murder to me.’ Stanley then joked: ‘You’re allowed to hit your wife over the head if she’s got the scrambled eggs wrong.’ A shocked Stacey gasped before shaking her head saying: ‘I can’t cope’.
