How To Deal With The Pain Of Ghosting Without Losing Yoru Mind

0

You meet someone. You go on a few good dates together and are convinced that everything is progressing nicely. Then he disappears. He stops calling and texting. He stops answering his phone and even blocks you on social media. You were hopeful and now you’re frustrated, upset and confused. What did you do wrong?

Ghosting is no fun for the person being left behind. It can completely drive you crazy if you let it. When someone disappears on you, it can have you questioning everything. It’s a painful experience, to say the least. So how can you deal with it without losing your mind?

Acknowledge the pain

You may not even have cared that much for the ghoster. But being rejected, even by someone you don’t care much for, can still bring up feelings of insecurity. So try not to gloss over the pain you’re experiencing by telling yourself he was a jerk anyway. Acknowledge that it’s okay to be hurt. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re a human being having a human . and that’s okay.

It wasn’t your fault

Never take the blame for being ghosted. If there was anything you did or didn’t do right, then a kind and compassionate human being would have said something instead of disappearing. So don’t start thinking you’re not good enough. You should never take the blame when someone acts cruelly towards you.

Talk about it

You may feel so embarrassed about the whole thing and you think the solution is to keep it a secret. But talking through your pain can be helpful. Putting your thoughts and feelings into words provides clarity and helps you process the pain. So confide in a loved one and accept their support.

Empathize with your ghoster

Even though what he did was cowardly, you may find it easier to move on if you consider the possibility that the person who ghosted you thought he was doing the right thing. Many ghosters disappear because they are afraid to face you and let you know they are not interested in, or capable of having a relationship. Sure, ghosting is a terrible way to pass this message. But it can help you move on if you know the person probably did not mean to hurt you. He was just too weak to approach the matter in a healthier way.

Let it go

Being ghosted sucks but you have to take care of yourself and move at your own space. Don’t hide from the dating world due to this bad experience. Get back on that saddle. Remember, all of this will be a funny tale to share someday. In the meantime, don’t let your ghoster win by hiding under the covers. Have fun. People suck sometimes, but that should never keep you from living your best life.
