Meghan Markle’s estranged half-sister claims she has written her a Christmas card asking the Duchess of Sussex to contact their father. Samantha Markle decided to share the Christmas message she wrote to Meghan, who she has not seen for more than 10 years, with the world. She says she fears Thomas Markle, 74, will not see another Christmas after suffering with heart problems for the past year.
Samantha’s card, which was decorated with two robins, read: ‘This is not meant to be formal. Holidays are a time for family and are sentimental. ‘As you know, dad has been trying to contact you and is very hurt because you are avoiding him.
‘Life is short and you know dad is wonderful. Please give him joy in his last years by showing you love him. The time is now. ‘Please think about this.’ Samantha, who spoke to the Sunday Mirror while writing the Christmas card, hit out at Meghan’s husband Prince Harry, who she has never met.
She said: ‘We all looked up to him but he doesn’t seem to care anything about this family. ‘Whether you’re Royal or not, you married into our family too and nobody is above being decent.’ Samantha has repeatedly berated Meghan for not inviting her to the ceremony at Windsor Castle in May and for not contacting Thomas after he was caught posing for paparazzi photographs in the run up to the wedding.
Since then, he has engaged in a number of high-profile interviews begging for his daughter Meghan to get back in contact with him.
