There’s nothing as satisfying as a good hair day. Nothing gets us more confident than properly styled hair!
Brittle, dull and weak hair, characterized by split ends is, therefore, something to worry about. What if we told you there is no need to worry. There are things you can do to take care of split ends. Still, don’t believe? Why not try these things.
Moisturizing
Split ends appear when your hair is dry and exposed to excessive blow drying, chemicals, strong shampoos and heat generally. So make sure your hair is properly moisturized. Oil your hair up to twice a week and leave it overnight under a shower cap then wash it off in the morning. When you apply oils, apply them to the middle and ends of your hair not near the scalp because this can cause itchiness and dandruff. Use healthy oils like coconut oil, almond oil or olive oil. Also, make sure to use shampoo containing natural ingredients to wash your hair thrice a week.
Trimming
The most tried and tested remedy for split ends is getting a trim. Always trim your hair. It helps to get rid of dull and weak hair. The tiniest trim will make your hair look so much healthier, thicker and bouncier. Cut your hair 1.5 inches above the split. And get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks. Here’s a detailed article on how to trim natural hair.
Masking (Honey And Coconut Oil)
It is good to know that some ingredients for dealing with split ends can be found right in the kitchen! You can make a nourishing hair mask out of honey and coconut oil. Honey helps to draw moisture into your hair and split ends occur when the hair is brittle and dry. So, get 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix them together and massage the mixture into the ends of your hair. Put on a shower cap and leave the mixture on for about 30 to 60 minutes. Afterwards, wash your hair gently and brush with a wide-toothed comb.
