A Ghanaian woman identified as Emmanuella Osei, has been arrested after she abandoned her baby in a toilet in United States. The 23-year-old Ghanaian lady who has now been charged with felony and endangering the welfare of a child regarding the incident that happened on Monday, January 14, 2019, reportedly works for Greater Hearts Human Services as a care assistant and was working at a unit in an apartment complex when the incident happened.
The suspect who allegedly called her supervisor multiple times to say she felt ill, asked for someone to relieve her because she could not leave the patients alone. She also asked her supervisor to call 911, and it was gathered that a responding officer found her in the bathroom with the door partially open.
A large amount of blood and what appeared to be an umbilical cord were on the floor. After she was pulled out of the toilet, the baby was found and investigators believe he was in the toilet water for 10-15 minutes. He was cold, blue, unresponsive and a CPR had to performed on him. While the extent of his injury is not known, sources said he is in a stable condition and placed in a ventilator.
