Report has it that a young man and his fiancée have been arrested by police for allegedly snatching a car.
Police confirmed to MyNewsGh.com the two lovebirds identified as Bernard Nyarko Appiah Kubi and Priscilla Asante – were said to have conspired and robbed the victim of his Daewoo Matiz vehicle with registration number GW 1638-19 at Koforidua in the Eastern Region in Ghana.
According to reports, police had earlier received information that the said vehicle had been stolen from Koforidua and was heading towards Kumasi and called on all police checkpoints to be on the lookout.
Not long after the information had been relayed to all police outlets, the suspect in the company of his girlfriend were spotted at Konongo and were arrested by the police.
Later, complainant Courage Normeshie Quarshigah reported that he was the driver of the said vehicle and that suspect Bernard Nyarko introduced himself as Medical Officer and hired him from Adenta in Accra to Koforidua and succeeded in stealing the vehicle from him at Koforidua.
Upon a search in the vehicle, police retrieved a stethoscope as well as doctor’s white overcoat and some car documents.
Police have since detained suspects Bernard Nyarko Appiah-Kubi and Priscilla Asante in custody pending the outcome of further investigations into the incident.
