A smart Ghanaian lady, Dr Denise A. Asafo-Adjei, has become the first Black woman to complete a residency in urology at Columbia University. The high-achiever revealed this feat on her personal Instagram handle in a recent post sighted by Legit.ng. Since Columbia University was established on 25 May 1754 in New York in the United States of America, no Black woman has ever finished residency in urology until now.
Urology, which is also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs.
According to the smart Ghanaian doctor, it took tremendous support from God, her parents, awesome siblings, family, fabulous friends, wonderful mentors, sponsors, and lover for her to attain this feat.
