This is the emotional moment a military dog refused to let its handler leave as the officer retired in China.
Footage shows the canine running after the soldier before wrapping its paws around the man, seeming trying to stop him from walking out of the barracks.
The three-year-old golden retriever named Da Mao had become inseparable with his trainer, Jia Chuan, after they worked side by side for the past two years, reported state media.
Mr Jia was due to retire recently after serving the Chinese army for eight years, according to a report by state broadcaster CCTV.
As he prepared to leave the camp, the officer bid an emotional farewell with Da Mao, the first search and rescue dog he had trained.
Mr Jia and his four-legged partner shared a strong bond and became best after working side by side for the past two years.
After handing Da Mao over to his colleague, the officer is seen in the video petting his furry comrade one last time before walking away.
