Abia Warriors defender Adekunle Adeleke says he’s delighted to work with the Super Eagles as the experience improved him as a player.
Adekunle replaced Kenneth Omeruo, who pulled out Nigeria’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin Republic and Lesotho.
The Center Back has been ever-present for the Aba Warriors this season, helping them from bottom of the table to mid table, including a run of 8 games without a defeat.
Although he watched both games from the bench, Adekunle remains grateful for the opportunity to work with top professionals for seven days.
“It’s a very nice experience and I learn something that will help in my career and also help me when I go back to my club,” the CB said.
“Training with so much experience players is nice and enjoyable and learning process for some of us who are new to the team.
“The players were so nice and they thought me so many new things that can help improve my game. The coach too taught me things I need to know and that will help me play at top level.”
